Case study: Petrofac Limited
The problem…
Petrofac wanted staff to contribute ideas on how to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its business in Aberdeen. The challenge was how to get staff to engage with the process, how to encourage and enthuse individuals to come forward with their suggestions for business improvements – both large and small.
Our solution…
To ensure this was no run-of-the-mill employee suggestion scheme, we created ‘The Changes’ – a set of six original characters who led the call for ideas on how Petrofac could change things for the better within its business. Appearing on posters, booklets, full-size vinyls, coasters, cards and their own dedicated microsite, The Changes were different and proved effective.
The result…
By cutting through the normal corporate approach to employee suggestion schemes, The Changes delivered a impressive response. Launched on Monday 12th of April 2010, the Changes team had received over 50 genuine suggestions in the first ten days ranging from small to big ideas – from more microwaves in the kitchen to the way the company tenders for business.
